Our New Stool

Allison's great find at the snowmobile show the other day turned into my Monday project. I took the stool to work where I took it apart, and sandblasted it. The blaster worked great and really cleaned the metal right up. Then I primed and painted it. All in all I think it looks pretty good. Not bad for $15 total. If woman don't find you handsome they should at least find you handy.

Snomotion 2013

Today Alli and I went to The Nelson's Speed Shop annual Snomotion. It's a snowmobile and ATV extravaganza. It was a blast. We saw snow cross racing, freestyle sleds, dirt bikes, and quads. Also there were vintage grass drags and MONSTER TRUCKS. Allison was in her glory. It was funny that we were at a sled show seeings how it was 93 degrees out. All day long I walked around dreaming aching to buy something, on our way our Allison saw a bargain tent and wanted to go in. At a snowmobile show all we walked away with was an antique metal stool. Just my luck haha.

Creation and Destruction

So in the last few weeks I refinished our babies new dresser/changing table and built and upholstered a new changing table top, the changing table top just adds height to a very low dresser. We still plan to buy a convex pad to put on top of the changing table top.
In the last few weeks I also was able to smash my IPhone, thank goodness it wasn't my cell phone anymore. I also managed to get a virus on my laptop that has put it out of commission for a bit while the Geek Squad looks it over. Electronics and I just have not been getting along.

You Can Call Me The Godfather!

Hello all, Allison and I had a good past week. I had a bit of time off after having to work last week for the Coast Guard Festival. We went to the beach on Monday to cool off a bit. Stella really enjoys swimming so its fun to take her to the lake. We got our new crib in the mail the on Tuesday so we assembled it and now we have it in Bean's nursery. I can't wait to finish up redoing the changing table and Allison's glider, everything should look pretty good in the room together.
Thursday night Allison's brother Matt called and asked to speak with me.... I had no idea what he wanted. I am now the Godfather to Adaline Miriam White. I am honored. I have asked Allison to refer to me only as Godfather for now on but I don't think she is going to comply.
I started school on Monday. So far so good. I am  really enjoying one of my classes, the other is a gen ed and it is what  it is. I am going to have a lot more work then I had originally expected. Its good though, should help keep me busy at work and a little bit at home. Allison and I are going out into the woods this afternoon to complete one of the labs for my Forestry class. I am going to do the work but its fun that Allison can be there with me. I started researching my final paper last night, I am not going to be a procrastinator any longer. Work Work Work.

The Masterchief I had to drive around last week gave me this Rose to take home to Allison for being so understanding of my schedule.

Coast Guard Festival Kids Day & Carnival

Tuesday began my part in the Coast Guard festival here in Grand Haven. I got to take part in kids day which was pretty fun. We had a Damage Control simulator for the kids to play with. It is basically a boat with all sorts of broken and cracked pipes with water gushing out. We had a bunch for foam balls and other stuff for the kids to try to jam in the holes to stop the water. They had a blast and we saw a few kids multiple times.  (http://www.d9.uscgnews.com/go/doc/4007/1506159/ )
Tuesday evening Allison and I went to Grand Haven to explore the Festival. It was pretty neat. I think they make a bigger deal of it then it probably deserves. We grabbed some fair style food and went to a water skiing show. The water skiing show was pretty cool, they had a jump and did all kinds of flippies. It will be a busy weekend for me and I will be happy when its all over.
Wednesday Allison and I went to see here new OBGYN here in Michigan. The Doctor was very nice and we both felt pretty comfortable with her. We got to hear the heart beat again and Allison measured well. Everything is looking good. Tomorrow she will be 26 weeks, only one more week till her final trimester. We are getting so excited. I can't wait to meet baby bean. I am able to feel it kick somewhat regularly and a couple days ago baby was being particularly ornery and I was able to see it moving Allison's belly. That was really cool.
I hope you all have been watching the Olympics. It has been on non stop at our house and we have been going crazy routing for the USA in all sports from Archery to Womens Soccer. We have earned a lot of medals already and hopefully more to come. Go USA!
